for several months i've shared some of my virtual FRUGAL FRIENDS favorite thrift finds and it's been so inspirational to me i gathered up some of my own finds and will be greedy this week by sharing my own.i'm a huge collector. once i have two pieces of a semi-similar item i begin to call it a 'collection'. my weird glass collection began while i gathered the centerpieces for our wedding and the collection just so happened to never end. i'd like to think it's because my eyes were so trained to find centerpieces but it's truly just my deep love for weird stuff. each piece was under $3.
this floral gem is in our bathroom holding my cotton balls. it has a twin brother (or sister - TBD) and it too sits in our second bathroom filled with cotton balls. i love the strong floral design that pops out against the white clay. this beauty was $4.
these three pots were each $1. i can't keep a plant alive but they sure look good while they're dying.
i didn't realize my belt collection was this large until i gathered all of them together. funny thing is, i don't wear belts. . . good thing i thrifted them for under $2 each.
my towel collection actually is a thriving one. i'm obsessed with old, patterned, textured towels (which give most people the heebies). hand towels, dish towels, beach towels, body towels, any towel - i love them all so much but. . . . i never use them. they're for looks only and sit in a basket in our bathroom. i've scored them at many thrift stores around my hometown and have never spent over two quarters for a one of them.
these two pillows might be my best thrift finds to date. they were side by side on the top shelf of a really dingy pillow display at the DAV. i thought i might score a third pillow next to them but when i pulled it down it said "God bless Grandmas" so i passed it up. . . together i got these pillows for .98!
i hope you enjoyed my thrift finds (i might make this a more frequent occurance). i know i enjoyed sharing them.
does anyone else hoard things and never utilize them? i feel like a weirdy for collecting towels and never using them. . . but, when cute calls, i answer.
